Oak Door for the tower of St Andrews Church, Calstock
Work that lasts for 100 years. That is the project undertaken when Pete was commissioned to replace the ancient belfry tower door at Calstock Church. The door was made of natural oak and finished to withstand the wet years ahead at the top of the bell tower.
Peter was commissioned for the work which was completed to his own very high standards. He was even asked to attend the blessing of the door at St Andrews Church with his family. At the foot of the door is a carved inscription 'Petrus me fetit 2012' meaning 'Peter made me 2012'. This is in keeping with ancient tradesmen that always inscribed their workmanship when working on important work..
